BOSTON — Boston Police arrested a man Thursday after he allegedly attempted to carjack a man and chase him with a razor blade.
At around 9:50 p.m. on Thursday, officers were approached by a man in the area of High Street and Summer Street in Boston. The man said that when he returned to his car, a stranger was sitting inside, trying to carjack him.
The victim said the man took his cell phone from the car and chased him around the area while showing a razor blade, police said.
Officers went to Summer Street and saw the suspect walking toward them, police said. Officers shouted for the man to stop as they saw him holding something while walking toward them. Police said the suspect yelled at them to shoot him.
The suspect charged toward one of the officers, police said, but they wrangled him to the ground and secured the razor blade.
The 26-year-old man from New Jersey was arrested and arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on charges of assault by means of a dangerous weapon, larceny from a motor vehicle, and breaking and entering of a motor vehicle.
