Police recover sports memorabilia stolen from Saugus barber

SAUGUS, Mass. (AP) - Police have recovered an estimated $5,500 worth of sports memorabilia that was stolen from a Saugus barbershop last month.

The items, including jerseys signed by Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, and former Celtics star Paul Pierce, were stolen from Barber Masters on Oct. 22.

Owners and employees of the family-owned business described being heartbroken when they arrived at work to find the walls bare.

Police said they found the memorabilia with the help of surveillance video from the shop. Video showed a hooded, masked man breaking into the rear of the shop, and looking directly at one camera before tearing it off the wall.

A suspect has been identified and charges will be sought in Lynn District Court. The suspect's name has not been made public.
