Police: NH woman missing for a year found dead, case ruled homicide

GRAFTON, N.H. — The remains of a 26-year-old woman reported missing last year have been found and authorities are now investigating her death as a homicide.

Trish Haynes was last seen in the Grafton/Danbury, New Hampshire area in May or June 2018, New Hampshire Attorney General Gordon MacDonald said in a statement Wednesday.

An autopsy was conducted on the remains, which were identified as Haynes.

During a monthslong investigation into her disappearance, human remains were found in Grafton, New Hampshire, MacDonald said.

New Hampshire Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jennie Duval determined that Haynes was the victim of a homicide.

The circumstances surrounding Haynes’s death are still being actively investigated.
