AUBURN, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Teachers and staff at a local school are on edge this morning after several teachers reported spotting a hidden camera in the bathroom.
Authorities said it began early last month, when a teacher using a limited-access bathroom noticed a small, black beeping object hidden inside a bathroom grate. The teacher became alarmed and called colleagues in to look at the device, but by the time they managed to report it to administrators about 20 minutes later, the device had been removed.
School officials sent out a letter to parents informing them of the investigation, noting that the investigation is difficult now that the device has been removed. Officials have had the entire building checked since the incident, and all of the old grates have been replaced with tamper-proof ones.
Officials emphasized that the bathroom of concern was not used by any students, it was only for adults. They say it appears to have been an isolated incident, and no other suspicious activity has been reported.
