BOSTON – Police are investigating after a shooting on the Jamaica Plain-Roxbury line caused a car crash and an officer firing one round at the suspect.
According to Commissioner Evans, the driver of a white Audi fired several shots at a minivan around 3 p.m., causing the minivan driver to crash into a parked car and utility pole near Egelston Square.
"When they spoke to the occupants of that minivan, they indicated that the driver of a white Audi had fired several rounds, several shots at him,” Evans said.
Police say the Audi fled the scene, but during a brief pursuit struck an officer who in response fired one round at the vehicle.
Eventually, police recovered the vehicle but Evans told Boston 25 News that the driver and suspect in the original shooting was nowhere to be found.
The officer suffered minor injuries and is expected to be OK.
