Police hope new video sparks leads in murder case of Susan Taraskiewicz

(MyFoxBoston.com) -- Massachusetts State Police and the mother of a murdered young woman have released a new video on the 22nd anniversary of her death in hopes of finding the person who killed her.

In 1992, early on the morning of September 13, police say 27-year-old Susan Taraskiewicz took a break from her job at Logan Airport with Northwest Airlines to go pick up sandwiches for her coworkers.

She never returned to work from what was supposed to be a brief errand, nor did she make it back to her home in Saugus. Instead, the next morning, September 14, officials found Susan's body in the trunk of her car, which was parked at an auto body shop in Revere on Route 1A. She had been murdered.

Police say that at the time of Susan's murder, some of her coworkers at Northwest were involved in a credit card theft ring. Susan was not involved. Police also mentioned that Susan, who was a ramp supervisor, had been experiencing "persistent sexual harassment" by her male coworkers.

Years later, the facts around the brutal murder of Susan Taraskiewicz, including whether it was connected to the credit card theft ring or sexual harassment or other individuals, is still under investigation.

In the video released Sunday, Susan's mother Marlene talks about Susan's life and interests, and notes that her tragic murder prevented her from ever fulfilling many of her dreams. Marlene also notes how devastating her loss has been to their family.

Local and state investigators believe that there are people who have information that could lead to the arrest of Susan's killer or killers, and are urging them to come forward. State police are encouraging anyone with information, "regardless of their current situation or circumstance," to contact the Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit at 617-727-8817.
