CORNISH, N.H. — A series of small explosions damaged several mailboxes in Cornish, N.H., according to police.
Officers say they received a report of a mailbox being blown up on Tandy Brook Road around 11 p.m. Tuesday.
En route to the location, an officer said he found an intoxicated woman passed out at the wheel of her car on Route 12A. However, police did not say if she was related to the investigation.
Police say they then found a mailbox engulfed in flames on Hewitt Road in Claremont. It was one of five mailboxes they found damaged by what they described as an improvised explosive device "possibly contained in a soda bottle."
Two witnesses have given a possible vehicle description to police, who are investigating the incidents.
