LAWRENCE, Mass. — A Lawrence man has been held without bail after allegedly abducting and sexually assaulting more than one person.
Angel Mateo, 21, was arrested Thursday after police say he abducted and sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl that morning.
Prosecutors say Thursday night, after seeing a report on Mateo, a 27-year-old woman came forward and told investigators she has also been sexually assaulted by him.
The District Attorney told FOX25 the 13-year-old girl was on her way to school when she was allegedly assaulted.
The victim told police she was grabbed from behind and forcibly carried to a nearby apartment where she was sexually assaulted. Police say the victim reported that she was held against her will for more than two hours before being released.
A description of the male and the apartment where the assault allegedly happened led police to Mateo.
He was arrested and faces charges of kidnapping and aggravated statutory rape.
After a court hearing Friday morning, Mateo was ordered held without bail.
The victim made it to school and contacted her mother about the abduction and assault. The mother then called police.
