PHOTOS: Several injured at auto auction in Framingham

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Several people were injured during a live auto auction in Framingham Friday morning.

SkyFOX flew over the scene where emergency vehicles could be seen at the Adesa Auto Auction on Western Avenue. Police said that during the auction, a 78-year-old contract employee was driving a BMW SUV when it suddenly accelerated.

"I was running for my own life!" one witness said.

Randy Rindels says his friend was about 2-feet away when he was hit. He was rushed to the hospital but is expected to be okay. At least 7 others were injured, one man was pinned underneath the car before it crashed through a wall and stopped.

"People were screaming! Screaming, everybody get out!" Rindels said.

One person was taken to the hospital via Medflight with non life-threatening, but serious injuries. All of the others injured were taken to Metrowest Medical in Framingham.

Police say there is a good surveillance system in place that they are able to use in their investigation.

Adesa Auction is located at the site of a former GM plant. FOX25 contacted the company for a statement, but an employee had no comment, but said their corporate office would be releasing a statement.
