SPENCER, Mass. — A man has been shot and killed after allegedly pointing what appeared to be a gun at police after a pursuit in Spencer.
According to police, officers attempted to stop the vehicle around 8:30 p.m. in relation to an earlier domestic incident.
The driver eventually pulled into a driveway on Northwest Road and got out of the vehicle. According to police he pointed what appeared to be a gun at the officer.
The suspect was taken by ambulance to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester where he died.
The officer responded with a single shot, hitting the suspect.
Upon further examination, police officials in Spencer said it appears to be a pellet pistol.
