SOUTH BOSTON — A person struck by a car in South Boson is being treated for serious injuries.
The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. in front of 96 Preble Street, near St. Monica-St. Augustine Catholic Church.
Video from the scene shows a black Nissan sedan with a smashed windshield.
Joshua Ocheltree told Boston 25 News he arrived at the scene about 10 seconds after the pedestrian was struck.
“Thank God cops sit at that corner,” Ocheltree said. “They were there ASAP.”
Boston EMS transported the victim to Boston Medical Center.
A witness told Boston 25 News said the victim was thrown 10 feet into the air and was bleeding heavily from the head. Police said the victim sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash.
