Pedestrian fatally hit by Commuter Rail train in Wellesley

WELLESLEY, Mass. — A man was fatally struck by a Commuter Rail train in Wellesley on Tuesday afternoon.

MBTA transit police officers responded to a call at around 3 p.m. for a person struck by a train in Wellesley, near the area of the Western Road Bridge.

Multiple officers responded to the scene, along with Wellesley Fire and EMS members.

Transit police have only identified the victim as a man of unknown age. They said the man was allegedly trespassing on the train's right of way.

He was then struck by an inbound train on Track 2 on the Worcester Line. He was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.

Transit Police are actively investigating this incident along with the Norfolk County DA's office. No foul play is suspected.

Officials are asking people to avoid the area if possible.
