Peabody couple face charges for New Year's crash

PEABODY (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – A woman and her boyfriend are facing several charges, including operating under the influence, after the woman reportedly crashed into a pole with her 4-year-old child in the car.

Danielle Firth, 32, of Peabody, is facing a drunk driving and child endangerment charge for the crash which occurred outside 11 Perkins Street around 12:42 a.m. on New Year's Day.

Ronald Dominguez, 34, was arrested and charged with assault and battery on a police officer, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and a warrant after he attempted to flee the scene of the crash with Firth's child, reports The Daily Item.

According to the newspaper, Firth was transported to an area hospital where she was treated and released. She will be issued a summons for operating under the influence of liquor, reckless operation of a motor vehicle so as to endanger, and child endangerment while operating under the influence of alcohol.

Responding officers caught up with Dominguez and the child a couple of hundred yards up the street. Dominguez was taken into custody for a warrant, and the child was taken to Salem Hospital as a precautionary measure.

Dominguez was expected to be arraigned in Peabody District Court on Tuesday, but was a default at court.
