SALEM, Mass. — A French bulldog found dead in a car parked at the Salem Commuter Rail garage has landed a New York Couple in jail for cruelty to animals.

Brendan Bulfin, 38, and Courtney Casey, 28, showed up at their car as police were trying to get into it and opened it to find Nigil dead.

Police say they found the dog apparently dead in the car surrounded by vomit Sunday and later arrested Casey and Bulfin after they were told Nigil has been left in the vehicle for over 5 hours on a 73 degree day.

Officers responded to the Salem station's parking garage just after 6 p.m. Sunday after getting a report of a possibly injured dog inside a vehicle.
