FOXBOROUGH (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) If you're planning to head to Gillette Stadium this summer for a concert, your parking options just became significantly smaller.
A bylaw passed on Monday in the town of Foxborough looks to stop residents near the stadium from allowing stadium-goers to park on their property. Residents who charge a fee for parking will face a $100 fine for each vehicle.
Residents will be given six placards to hang in their cars during major events.
The side street operations have been a popular option for Patriots fans and concerts attendees looking to avoid stadium traffic and pay a little less than they would at commercial parking lots on Route 1. As many as 1,000 people have been parking in the residential lots during events.
