N.H. man drowns after jumping off boat in Lake Sunapee

LAKE SUNAPEE, N.H. — A 46-year-old man drowned in Lake Sunapee Saturday afternoon, according to the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.

Kevin Karolian was boating with a friend when he jumped into the water and was unable to swim back, according to police.

His friend tried to throw a floatation device to him, but Karolian was unable to stay afloat.

Divers had difficulty recovering Karolian because of the rough water and thunderstorms. His body was finally recovered shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday evening.
