MERRIMACK, NH — A N.H. man faces serious charges after police say they found disturbing video on cameras found hidden inside a bathroom.
Police say they've already identified two victims but they're worried there could be more. They also seized the suspect's computer and are starting to go through it.
Neighbors tell FOX25’s Robert Goulston they saw Thomas Herrmann being escorted out of his Merrimack home days after police showed up with a search warrant for his computer.
"Coming out with handcuffs being placed into the SUV cruiser,” Gregory Lambert, a neighbor, said. "It was an apple computer, a 27-inch, a good size one, came out the front door"
Herrmann is accused of recording at least two young children under the age of 18 undressing.
"The cameras were hidden and they had no knowledge that they were being recorded,” Merrimack Police Lt. Denise Roy said.
According to court documents, Herrmann "installed a go pro camera in the bathroom..." "for the purpose of recording images of their private parts..." Police are not saying where the cameras were found, only that they were 'not' in a bathroom the general public could use.
"We were informed by a person in a residence that they located some recording equipment and they looked at the recording equipment and they looked at it and it had images of juveniles through different stages of undress,” Roy said.
Herrmann is currently married with step children and has children of his own from a previous marriage.
People who know him said they don't know what to think.
"I never saw a red flag and they were kind of quiet,” Lambert said.
The judge ordered Herrmann to stay away from all children under the age of 18 unless he is supervised.
