New Hampshire fire officials battle massive garage fire in Nashua

NASHUA, N.H. — Fire officials in New Hampshire battled a massive garage fire in Nashua early Friday morning.

Nashua Fire and Rescue received a call shortly before 1 a.m. for a garage fire at 11 Fernwood Street.

The deputy chief was the first on scene and reported a full garage was involved in the fire, approximately 15 to 20 feet away from a 2 and half story wood frame house.

Additional companies were called to the scene to help with putting out the fire, protecting the house and evacuating residents.

Once the fire was controlled, a fire investigator was called to the scene to investigate the cause of the incident.

The Special Hazards team found a faulty valve on a temporary water main placed in the area had placed the nearest fire hydrant out of service. An additional engine was called to assist with water supply.

The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
