NANTUCKET, Mass. — Nantucket is a summer home for many celebrities and while real estate on the island can be expensive, real estate on the water can cost just as much.
The Boston Globe reports that a 140-foot boat slip recently sold for $4.75 million to an entity with ties to Eric Schmidt, the executive chairman of Google's parent company Alphabet inc.

The dock is large enough for a 156-foot yacht and also includes a parking spot for a car.
Schmidt’s wife, Wendy, is a resident of the island and has been heavily involved in preserving the island’s charm.
Nantucket has a population of around 10,000 people and the median income for a family according to the 2010 census was around $90,000.
Residents and regular visitors to the island include Bill Belichick, John Kerry, Katie Couric and Joe Biden.
