HARTFORD, Conn. — Connecticut's highest court has reinstated murder conviction of Kennedy cousin Michael Skakel.

Skakel was convicted for the 1975 murder of Martha Moxley in Greenwich, Connecticut in 2002. In 2013, he was granted a new trial and released on bail. The new trial has been in the appeals systems until Friday.

Moxley was last seen alive in Belle Haven, Connecticut in 1975 at 15 years old. Skakel was also 15 at the time of her murder and they were friendly.

Skokel is the nephew of Ethel Skakel Kennedy, the widow of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy.
