Mother, daughter dead following 2-car crash in Plymouth

PLYMOUTH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A mother and daughter are dead following a two-car crash that occurred in the area of 545 Federal Furnace Road in Plymouth early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the crash at about 12:30 a.m. Following an initial investigation, officers concluded one of the cars veered over the center lane into oncoming traffic and struck another car head-on.

The car that allegedly veered into oncoming traffic was being driven by a 24-year-old woman. She was transported to Jordan Hospital where she was later declared dead. The victim's 64-year-old mother, who was a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 64-year-old woman who was killed was from Carver. The identities of the victims have not yet been released.

The driver of the other car is a 25-year-old Kingston man. He was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash is under investigation, but officials told The Boston Globe they do not believe alcohol or speed were factors.
