WEYMOUTH, Mass. — The Animal Rescue League of Boston’s Law Enforcement Department and the Weymouth Police and Animal Control rescued more than two dozen dogs from a residence in Weymouth.

According to the ARL, 31 Chihuahua-type dogs were removed from the home due to unsanitary conditions usually associated with overcrowding.
The operation involved ARL Law Enforcement, Weymouth Police, and animal control officers from Scituate, Braintree, and Cohasset.
Ten dogs were transferred to the Dedham Animal Care and Adoption Center for examination and the other 21 were taken by the Boston division of the ARL.

Several of the animals were diagnosed with heart murmurs and dental disease, but most will be available for adoption this week.
