MLB launches ALS campaign honoring Pete Frates

Major League Baseball is getting behind Pete Frates' fight to end ALS.

Called "MLB Fights ALS," the initiative begins next Tuesday and runs through Aug. 5 and is inspired by Beverly native and Boston College baseball player Pete Grates and Yankees player Lou Gehrig.

The campaign aims to raise money the ALS Association's new ALS Home Health Initiative. This is in part of the high cost of home care for people living with ALS.
