MIT students win $15K prize for new Boston school bus routes

BOSTON — A group of MIT students won an award for their new plan to keep Boston school bus routes running smoothly.

The district says using a new algorithm will allow more on-time arrivals for buses while cutting bus routes and the amount of time students spend on the bus.

The Boston school district held a contest earlier this year with a $15,000 prize to the team who came up with the best bus routes for the city.
