MILFORD, Mass. — A Milford woman has been arrested for leaving a child in a car.
On Tuesday afternoon, police in North Smithfield, Rhode Island were notified of a toddler locked in an unattended vehicle. Officers arrived and found the vehicle running with the keys in the ignition.
Officers tried to open the door, but it was locked so they shattered windows to get to the toddler.

The boy was assessed by medical personnel who determined he was not seriously injured. DCYF was then contacted.
Police arrested 21-year-old Annelise Marie Ambert of Milford, Massachusetts for cruelty or neglect of a child.
