MIDDLEBOROUGH, Mass. — A local veteran says vandals have been driving up on his lawn and peeling out, and he says he’s caught them on camera.

He says he's been dealing with the damage for two years.

“He pulled up here jammed his break on, made a hole right there and then peeled out right there,” Ed Dentch explained.

“I take pride in my lawn, I spend money on it and it takes time…I guess they don’t see it that way,” said Dentch.

Dentch is a proud Vietnam veteran. He's also proud of his green grass that surrounds his Middleborough home.

Vandals have been trashing it with trucks and motorcycles, and Dentch says it's been happening off and on for more than two years.

“First time was January 1, 2015,” Dentch said.

The most recent time was April 30.

But Dentch had recently installed security cameras to catch the grass grinders in the act, which he did.

“He pulled in and jammed his brake and that’s his front wheel. And then he peeled out,” he said.

Middleborough police confirm they have received his video and they are examining it at their crime lab, hoping to identify the owner of the truck.

Over the last two years, He’s tried other deterrents as well, including nails sprinkled across his lawn. He says there’s a bout two pounds of nails in his lawn.

“It’s annoying, I’d like to see them lose their driver’s license because that’s malicious,” he said. “They’re using their vehicle to do damage to somebody else, I mean that’s not nice.”
