METHUEN, Mass. — Extra security measures are in place at a private Catholic school in Methuen after several threatening messages were found written on walls.

The threats prompted police to search every single student who attends Presentation of Mary Academy on Thursday.

Every student will also pass through a metal detector before entering the building.

With all the safety measures in place, the start of the school day was moved to 8:25 a.m.

Police said there was no specific date attached to the threats, but the message was serious enough to prompt Thursday’s extra security.

No other information was released.
