MEDWAY, Mass. — A dog is being credited with rescuing its companion after over an hour of searching.

When two kids in Medway went sledding in their front yard, they took their two beagle mix dogs, named Brute and Lilly, out with them. But when they decided to come back inside, they couldn’t find Lilly.

Alexis Spallone told FOX25 she and her family went searching through the neighborhood for Lilly, but couldn’t find her.

They finally decided to let Brute help with the search. So they put him on a leash and let him sniff around outside.

Finally, he stopped in the front yard and started digging into the snow.

Spallone said Brute and her husband dug into the snow and finally found Lilly under the snow.

She said the dog seemed happy and healthy, despite being buried in the snow for about an hour and a half.
