MAYNARD, Mass. — A robbery at a convenience store in Maynard was caught on camera Sunday night – and the clerk stayed almost perfectly calm during it.

The clerk who was working when the store was robbed normally only works weekends. The robbery happened Sunday night around 9 p.m.

Surveillance cameras inside the corner store on Walnut Street captured it from two angles. You can see the suspect stormed into the store and immediately points a handgun up to the clerk's head in the wider shot.

He then reaches over the counter grabs the money and then walks out.

From another angle, you can see that, at the time, the clerk had the drawer open already. He barely reacts as the suspect reaches over. He stays calm even with the gun pointed at him.

The Maynard Police Department says the suspect remains on the run. They described him as a white man, approximately 5-foot-5. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt at the time of the robbery.

The clerk was not hurt. He did not want to speak with Boston 25 News when asked.

Regular customers say they know it's happened before.

"I've known the family for a long time, and, occasionally, about six, seven years ago they had problems with this," said Mikail Kysiak of Maynard.

Anyone with information is asked to call police immediately.
