WALTHAM, Mass. — A massive officer building is planned for a Waltham property near Route 128, according to a blog post by Hobbs Brook Management.
The company says it plans to construct at 507,000-square-foot building in Hobbs Brook Park.
According to the post, the building would be the largest contiguous office building on Route 128 and the company would target life science sector tenants.
A pair of buildings in the spot will be demolished to make way for the new space.
“With the increased biotech and lab interest, combined with the fact that the current design of these buildings is somewhat antiquated, we felt it was a somewhat underutilized site,” Hobbs Brook COO Kevin Casey said. “There is a lack of large contiguous buildings on Route 128 right now, and we’d be creating our own market with this.”
