Massachusetts searching for person to fill cannabis inspector position

BOSTON -- Massachusetts is looking for hire a full-time marijuana and hemp inspector.

The Department of Agricultural Resources posted a listing on the state's career website for an agricultural inspector who will specialize in marijuana.

The job deals with ensuring the legal procedures around pot are followed by everyone.

Those looking to apply must have a bachelor's degree, as well as experience or knowledge about pot.

"Cannabis (marijuana and hemp) is a new crop for Massachusetts. This Inspector position will enforce the laws and regulations involving hemp and overlapping laws and regulations that impact the cultivation of marijuana," the job description says.

According to the posting, applications within the first 14 days will be given priority, but the posting will remain open until filled.

The job is set to pay a salary between $42,000 and $57,000 annually.
