Mass. babysitter charged with DUI, child endangerment

NEWTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A babysitter was arraigned on Friday after reportedly driving under the influence of drugs with a child in the car.

Officials tell FOX 25 Angela Rascoe is charged with possession of a class B substance, operating under the influence of drugs, and child endangerment while driving.

Rascoe was found slumped over behind the steering wheel on Thursday at the intersection of Walnut and Washington Streets in Newton. Police and an ambulance responded at about 3 p.m. to find a child in the back seat. Rascoe was reportedly babysitting a young child at the time of the incident.

Rascoe was released on $1,000 bail at her arraignment Friday. She is scheduled for a pre-trial conference on March 18.

A FOX 25 photographer was at the scene of the incident on Thursday as police removed what appeared to be a prescription medication bottle from the car.
