Marlborough Police cite driver who crashed into pole, knocked out power to thousands

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — Marlborough Police have cited the driver who crashed into a utility pole and knocked out power to thousands of homes and businesses Wednesday night, police lieutenant Robert Jusseaume told Boston 25 News.

The SUV slammed into a utility pole on Cook Lane, near the Brook Village East Apartments, just before 11 p.m. Pictures from the scene show the snapped pole and downed wires.

More than three-thousand customers lost power.

A witness told Boston 25 News the woman behind the wheel of the SUV didn't appear to be seriously hurt.

Police have cited her with a marked lanes violation, according to Jusseaume.
