Not all heroes wear capes.
A man who blew out his tire while driving on Route 3 southbound took to Facebook to tell a great story about a Good Samaritan who helped him in a situation no one would ever wish upon their worst enemy.
Brian Dirgins said he was driving along the crowded road when he hit a seam on the road on an overpass, causing severe damage to his tires.
At the point, Dirgins noticed the driver behind him put his emergency lights on and helped block traffic so he could pull over to the right.
Since the next exit was about a mile away and there was no shoulder to pull over, the driver helped Dirgins get to the right lane. Dirgins said that, at that point, he was already driving on the rim of his tires.
As they reached a nearby parking lot, the man asked Dirgins if he was okay and offered to help changing the tire, insisting on helping as he had a breaker bar in his toolbox, inside his car.
The Good Samaritan, Chris Johnson, a Boston-based real estate agent, came out of his car on his wheelchair, introducing himself to Dirgins and getting right to work.
As it turns out, Johnson fixes cars in his spare time and enjoys helping others working as an EMS dispatcher, volunteering at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and serving as a community outreach advocate for several organizations focused on spinal cord injuries.
After the tire was replaced, Dirgins offered to compensate Johnson for his help, to which he politely refused, leaving Dirgins with his business card.
