Man hospitalized after being hit by MBTA bus at Ashmont T station

BOSTON — A man has been hospitalized after being hit by an MBTA bus at the Ashmont station.

According to the MBTA, the incident happened at around 6:11 p.m. when one of the buses that services Route 23 hit the pedestrian.

Transit Police detectives have been combing through surveillance footage from inside the station as they continue to investigate the crash.

The victim has not been identified yet.

It is still unclear how the man was hit, but there were several witnesses nearby.
