Man dies in Framingham house fire

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — A man was killed in a house fire on Swift Road Monday night.

Framingham Deputy Fire Chief Steven Magri said firefighters were called to 46 Swift Rd., a single-family home, around 7:11 p.m. and found a working fire with heavy smoke and flames.

The homeowner, a 67-year-old man, died in the fire, Magri said. It took about an hour for firefighters to get the blaze under control.

Police have not released the man’s name.

Framingham fire and police, along with the state fire marshal and the Middlesex County district attorney’s office are investigating the cause of the fire and the man’s death.
