Man charged with murder in 2020 Worcester stabbing death

WORCESTER, Mass. — A man was arraigned Friday on a murder charge in connection to a November 2020 stabbing death, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.

Dana Gaul, 43, of Cherry Valley, was arrested Thursday evening by Worcester police.

Gaul was indicted for the stabbing death of 19-year-old Jehlon Rose on Water Street in Worcester.

Around 7:45 p.m. on Nov. 24, 2020, Worcester police responded to the report of a group fighting on Water St. When officers arrived, they found Rose suffering from multiple stab wounds.

He was taken to a local hospital where he died three days later.

The Worcester Police Department Detective Bureau investigated the case for eight months.

They said they identified Gaul through surveillance footage, cell phone video and photos, and eyewitnesses.

Gaul was held without bail following his arraignment.

He is due back in court on July 1.
