LOWELL, Mass. — A New Hampshire man was arrested after crashing into two marked police cruisers and fleeing the scene during a traffic stop in Hudson.

Hudson Police officers received a report of a suspicious vehicle entering the town at around 7:16 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police identified the car as a black 2012 Toyota Camry with two people inside.

The driver, identified as Robert Ayles, 36, of Nashua, NH, had evaded Nashua Police and had a warrant for his arrest for failure to appear to court on charges of methamphetamine possession and operating after suspension.

Marked Hudson Police cruisers attmepted to stop Ayles at the intersection of Musquash and Copper Hill roads. During the stop, Ayles crashed his car into the two cruisers and then fled northbound on Musquash Road.

The pursuit continued along Wason Road, the Circumvential Highway, Lowell Road, Pine Road and Gowing Road.

Officers used a Stinger Spike System, which deflated the Camry's tires, limiting Ayles' speed and mobility.

Ayles continued into Massachusetts until he crashed his car in Lowell and was taken into custody by Tyngsborough Police.

No Hudson officers were injured during the incident.

Charges against Ayles are still pending.
