PEABODY, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A man and woman say they had to leap out of the way after a car crashed into their home on Surrey Lane late Monday night.
The vehicle went through the living room just before 11 p.m., the woman told FOX25. She said she had been sitting in the living room watching television with her boyfriend when she saw headlights coming towards her. She said they both had to jump out of the way and leap to safety.
The woman said that the car took off after the crash but left its bumper and license plate behind.

A short time afterwards, the woman said that her 17-year-old neighbor who appeared to be drunk walked up to the scene wearing no shoes and asked what was going on. The woman instructed her son to hold down the neighbor until police arrived to question him.
FOX25 also spoke with the woman's boyfriend, Phil Lippens, who also said that he had to leap to safety.

"It was the most frightening thing that has ever happened to me...I thought a bomb went off," said Lippens. "Next thing you know I'm on the floor looking at a car, and then it dawned on me."
FOX25 has reached out to police regarding any possible charges faced by the 17-year-old.
