The man wanted for killing his ex-girlfriend in Weymouth should have never been in the U.S., Boston 25 Investigates has learned.

Police issued a warrant for Kerrol Bailey Sunday for the murder of Michelle Clark, and he remains on the run Tuesday. Family says they dated for more than a decade.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement confirmed it deported Bailey to Jamaica in 2012. The deportation followed a series of state and federal charges.

A federal affidavit from New York that indicates that same year Bailey made a false statement in an application for a U.S. passport, providing the name, social security number and date of birth of a Tony Orlando Smith, one of his known aliases. He stated his birth place was the Virgin Islands.

Boston 25 Investigates pulled court records from Maryland that show Bailey served time for possession with intent to distribute marijuana in 2010.

Boston 25 Investigates didn't find a criminal record in Massachusetts until the warrant issued Sunday for murder.

The victim Michelle Clark leaves behind a 6-year-old son and family desperate for justice.
Bailey remains on the run.

He was last seen in a 2005 Ford pickup truck with the license plate FF47BK.
