LEOMINSTER (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – A 51-year-old Fitchburg man was killed in a two-vehicle crash with a tractor trailer on Route 2 in Leominster on Wednesday morning.
Massachusetts State Police responded to the eastbound side of Route 2, east of Exit 31, around 10: 30 a.m.
According to authorities, the tractor trailer was traveling eastbound when it collided with a 2001 BMW 325I in traffic.
The left travel lane was closed for approximately two hours to accommodate the rescue response and crash investigation; however, traffic remained light and was not significantly impacted.
The operator of the BMW suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Leominster Fire Department and EMS.
The facts and circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
