A Make-A-Wish recipient from Rhode Island had a wish come true when he met a longtime online gaming friend from across the country.
Portsmouth, Rhode Island native Colin Wright met his friend, Adrian, at Logan Airport on Tuesday after six years of playing games together online.
Wright wanted to meet Adrian after their friendship provided a positive light while Wright underwent treatment in Boston for Osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer.
Wright went through three surgeries for the disease and couldn't go to school or be with his friends, and Adrian was there to help him through it all.
"I think this is something that these two young gentlemen have looked forward to for such a long time," Erik Wright, Colin's father said. "It goes to show the power of a friendship, and friendships can form under the most unusual circumstances."
The two finally met for the first time on Tuesday, and will spend four full days together as they make the rounds throughout the area.
