Logan sees major uptick in cancelations, delays during winter storm

BOSTON — Between the wet snow and freezing drizzle, Tuesday was a tough day for travelers at Logan Airport.

The storm that hit Boston has been slowly moving across the country for several days.

By 10 p.m. Tuesday about 125 flights into or out of Logan Airport had been canceled and another 350 had delays.

“We were going to leave about 3 or 4 in the morning but we just said will just go earlier, we want to make sure we get home tomorrow,” Stacy Barreira said.

Other passengers didn't find out their flights were canceled until after they checked their bags. Some of them spent hours searching for the luggage before trying to find a different flight.

This isn’t a major storm by many considerations, but because of the impact on other cities and the current conditions a domino effect of problems has been building.
