WORCESTER — The MBTA says a Worcester train is delayed and behind schedule due to fire department activity earlier in the Grafton area, the MBTA said in a tweet. The fire department in Westborough confirmed to Boston 25 News that the activity mentioned by the MBTA stemmed from a brush fire in their town.
Worcester Line Train 524, expected to usually depart Worcester at 4 p.m., was the train that was originally delayed.
And while the MBTA tweeted out that the fire department activity had finished by 6 p.m., residual delays were still impacting the Worcester Line in the evening.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
