LUNENBURG, Mass. — Storm preparations are underway as communities across the state brace for a weekend winter storm.
In Lunenburg, which is projected to be one of the worst-hit areas, people grabbed last-minute supplies on Friday.
“We’ve got shovels, we’ve got sand-salt bags, salt,” said Daniel Wong, an employee at Powell Stone and Gravel. “We’ve got a ton of people coming in, getting ready. Everyone’s nervous.”

Plow drivers also spent time greasing up their equipment in Leominster.
At Forever Green Landscaping, the owner said he has upwards of 50 customers hoping to get their driveways and business parking lots cleared off.
“We’ll probably pre-treat some properties with salt and then two inches, we’ll be out there,” said Matt Landry.
Boston 25 News meteorologists project Worcester County will be hit hard with wet snow, which has the potential to weigh down power lines and tree limbs.
Roads are likely to be sloppy.
“My car is too tiny to make it through the snow,” said Sam Hally, a Lunenburg resident. “It’s fine, I have all-wheel drive, but still, I’m pretty cautious.”
Sam Hally and her husband Matt went to Pierce’s tree farm on Friday afternoon to cut their tree before the weather turns.
“We saw that there might be ten inches of snow, so we said alright, we’ve got a lunch break, let’s take it and lets come here and cut down a tree,” said Sam Hally.
Both said that while they were excited for the snowfall, they won’t be hitting the ski slopes as much this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We’ll just be staying inside probably,” said Matt Hally.
