BOSTON — Despite traveling all the way from Albany, New York for the concert, Angela Mercer wasn’t in her seat when P!nk brought down the house at Fenway earlier this summer.
Despite being only 31 weeks pregnant, Mercer felt the telltale signs of labor shortly after arriving at the concert. She called her doctor, who told her to get to a hospital.
Unable to navigate the crowded roads surrounding Fenway, she, her mother Barbara and sister-in-law Amy decided their best travel option was their own two feet. The women, all decked out in their best P!nk attire, began the trek to Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
After completing the mile-long journey, Aycen Hart was born in Brigham’s NICU. The future P!nk superfan shares a birthday with his grandmother, whom the women planned the trip to celebrate.
“My husband Ace and I are so incredibly grateful to the exceptional team at Brigham and Women’s Hospital! The medical, case management, and social work staff guided us confidently with their knowledge and expertise, all while being personable, empathetic, and engaging. We are sincerely appreciative,” Angela shared.
