TAUNTON, Mass. — A woman is dead and another was injured following a single-vehicle crash in Taunton.
The crash happened around 11:15 p.m. Friday on County Street.
Officers responding to the scene found a 2001 Honda Accord with heavy damage to the driver’s side. The vehicle came to a final rest against a telephone pole.
The car was occupied by two women. The driver was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she later died. She was identified as 26-year-old Selina Mendez of Taunton.
The passenger, a 23-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
