BOSTON — Firefighters rescued a woman and two children from a morning fire in a four-story brownstone in Boston’s South End.
The Boston Fire Department said the fire started just after 8 a.m. at 68 West Newton St. A second alarm was called due to heavy fire.
A woman and two children were rescued, Boston fire tweeted.
Firefighters raised a ladder to reach the family. Photo show the mother being escorted down the ladder while her children were carried down by firefighters.
Boston 25 spoke to a witness on the scene who detailed the moments firefighters brought down a baby on a ladder.
The three were then taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with minor injuries, fire officials said.

Eight people in total, including the two children, were displaced by the fire, along with several pets.
The department said the fire broke out around 8:00 a.m. A total of eight people and their pets were displaced. Fire officials are investigating the cause of the blaze.
