WATERTOWN, Mass. — The Watertown Police Department is mourning the loss of its K9 Kato.
Kato died after suffering a medical emergency during training, the department said in a statement on Facebook.
“Please keep his K9 handler, Officer Civetti and his family in your thoughts and prayers,” the statement read.
Kato joined the Watertown Police Department in 2019 after he and his handler Officer Andrew Civetti graduated from the Boston Police K9 Academy.
