Victim identified, suspect arrested in connection to fatal shooting in Dorchester

DORCHESTER, Mass. — A victim has been identified by police, and a suspect was arrested in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred Friday, May 28, 2021, at approximately 11:50 a.m. in Dorchester.

The Boston Police Department told Boston 25 officers were called to Park Street in Dorchester after receiving reports of shots fired.

Upon arrival, they were able to locate an adult male victim who was suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim, Ivanildo Barros, 37, of Dorchester, was later pronounced deceased on scene.

Officers identified the suspect as Nickoyan Wallace, 46, of Dorchester. Wallace was arrested on Saturday, May 29, 2021, by members of the BPD Youth Violence Strike Force and is now facing murder charges.

Police added that the suspect is expected to be arraigned at Dorchester District Court. The investigation remains ongoing at this time, police say.
